At the home page you were greeted by an odd shade of blue looking tiger, if you have looked through my illustrations, it is not hard to see this same figure, in different context and forms in my work. This odd creature is in fact named Aletta or "Demonic" if going by her codename. Throughout my life as an artist, in hobby and beyond, my figures and characters depicts have changed as I progressed in my career yet she remained. Perhaps it is because her design came to me in a truly artistic moment or her base of a tiger. The Tiger is one animal I have always been drawn to throughout my life and something I enjoy observing, watching and learning from. This is one of the many reasons why my site's mascot is a tiger, more so, my tiger.

Aletta's personally in my artwork is something I find rather humorous, I like to think of her as a fully developed character in her own right, not just an image. Duality is often being something I explore with the cat; her mood is reflected from her ability to have an extreme personality that, on a coin flip, can go completely opposite never leaving a dull moment. The character also was 10 years old in 2008.

Mascot FAQ:
Why is Aletta blue? If she is a tiger depicted semi-realistically why wouldn't she be white or orange?

This is a question I actually answer quiet frequently and enjoy explaining. I often read a lot about the animal and keep a decent notebook on my findings. While looking through a book I stumbled across color morphs in the tiger population. Black Tigers and 'Golden' Tabby (the golden can be found in zoos) are proven color variations in the animal. While looking further into the coloration of Tigers I came across a book Blue Tiger written in 1924 by Harry Caldwell. The scientific field calls this possible color morph a Maltese Tiger and come from the Fujian Province of China, known for its blue shade of vegetation. There have also been reports of this coloration in Korea. Other 'big' cats have a similar color variation; it can be found in Cheetahs. Another interesting phenomenon in the animal kingdom, which could also allow something like this to happen, is Erythrism or an unusual level of red in the animal's coat. A stuffed Erythrism Jaguar can be found in Mexico (image below) and appears similar to a black Jaguar. Claws 'N' Paws Wild Animal Park in my home state of PA claim to have a white leopard and is a place I am interested in visiting. If you are interested in the idea of odd colorations and patterns in big cats, I suggest looking up a King Cheetah.

What IS Aletta? I have seen images of a tiger, one I think that's a more human tiger and the name attached to an image of a woman?

I love this question. Aletta is in fact a WereTiger. Werecats are not uncommon in myth and folklore, and are similar to a Werewolf. Depending on the part of the world you are from there are different legends on what cat lives in the area. Legends of WereTigers are common all over Asia, Indonesia and Malaysia. And so the images are different because they are her different -forms-. She has a tiger form, a human form and the middle ground or 'were' form that I distinctly (and always have) called the Hybrid.

What's the difference between a WereTiger's "hybrid/were" form and an Anthropomorphic image?

For those of you unfamiliar with the term, Anthropomorphism is an animal with 'human' likeness or characteristics. On the surface this seems almost identical to a Were-animal, given that they either become an animal or animal like creature. But there is a keen difference. A Were-animal, like Aletta, has a human form, an Anthropomorphic creature/character does not. They generally have one form and one form alone. One good example of an Anthropomorphic figure is the Egyptian god Anubis who has the head of a Jackal and the body of a man. The 'correct' term to define Aletta (if any) is an Ailuranthrope or a person that has Ailuranthropy, where as a Wolf shape shifter is called a Lycanthrope. Or for those of you that are fans of the Underworld series, Lycans.

Why do you sometimes call her "Demonic"?

This is the other common question I am often asked, Demonic is a tie in to my love for comic books. Most 'super' heroes have a codename or something else they are called. Demonic by definition is something fiendish or monstrous. Aletta, being a WereTiger is good by nature but it is not always that side of her that comes through or is allowed to. She might have the world's biggest heart but her ability to do evil is just as strong, it is her own inner demon. If the situation called for it, she would be the one to torture someone to get information that was needed, assonate someone if her duty called for it and fight using tactics of war that most would call uncivilized. She is an animal and does not hide the fact, she was born being a Werecreature and generally does not feel bad about doing the things asked of her and that are required of her. The human side of her is treats these actions with a level of reason that allows her to accept what she is and what she has done. The world remembers acts of evil more then they remember acts of good.
